About Us

GeoRobotix Innovative Research specializes in the design and application of open standards for sensor systems within national security, public sector, private sector and scientific communities.

GeoRobotix Innovative Research is built on the 20 years of pioneering work of Botts Innovative Research (Botts-Inc – acquired by GeoRobotix in 2025), which was heavily involved in the design, development, and implementation of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Sensor Web Enablement (SWE) and the emerging OGC API – Connected Systems architectures for discovering and tasking of sensors, publishing and subscribing to alerts, and streaming, parsing, processing, and portrayal of real-time and archived observations. Botts-Inc pioneered many innovations in processing and fusing a wide range of sensors, from those on satellite, ocean, and airborne platforms, to those on mobile and static ground-based stations.  The Botts-Inc team also pioneered innovations in the design and development of highly interactive, dynamic, 4D visualization environments for the fusion of observations and other geospatial data from disparate sources in support of time dominant decision support. This experience spanned research and development services, architecture and standards leadership, and production implementation expertise harnessing the power of OpenSensorHub, the open source, open standards based API developed by Botts-Inc and its ecosystem partners.  For those customers seeking to deploy these capabilities for high availability, mission-critical applications, Botts-Inc launched GeoRobotix in 2018 to offer commercially supported, OpenSensorHub based SaaS and OnPrem implementations. GeoRobotix in turn acquired Botts-Inc in 2025, and carries this legacy forward by maintaining this innovative team of technologists as a wholly owned subsidiary called GeoRobotix Innovative Research, focusing its efforts on support to US government missions.
